Rottweiler Rescue Groups give abandoned or rejected Rotties a second chance at happiness.
They spend a lot of time, money and love on 'their' dogs and are dedicated to finding each one a forever home, with people who will love and appreciate them.

On this page you'll find a list of rottweiler rescues who have dogs (and sometimes puppies) desperately in need of a big dose of TLC.Some of these groups cover a very small geographical area, others accept and rehome dogs across several states.
The dedicated staff want their dogs to find loving, permanent homes and to be as sure as they can that each dog and its' new owner are a good 'fit'.

Here is a list of Rottweiler Rescue Organizations across the United States. I've divided them, as far as possible, according to the regions that they cover, but remember, some rescue groups cover several states
North East Rottweiler Rescue & Referral
The NERR & R rescues unwanted and abandoned Rottweilers and places them into appropriate, permanent homes. It also promotes responsible ownership by providing struggling Rottweiler owners with free educational services. It is dedicated to preserving the reputation of the Rottweiler breed.
Rescued Rottweilers United with Friends and Family Inc.
RRUF rescues unwanted and abandoned Rottweilers from shelters. They also accept a limited number of owner surrender cases (if there are special circumstances). Covers CT, MN, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT, WI
Majesty Rottweiler Rescue Inc.
Volunteers at MRR place homeless Rottweiler's with new loving families and help to educate the public about responsible dog ownership. The foster all dogs in approved homes and dedicated to the welfare of this exceptional breed. MD, DE & the Southeastern parts of PA & NJ. (Coverage is limited to a 2-2.5 hr. radius of Darlington, Md)
Nova Rottweiler Rescue League Inc
NoVa Rottweiler Rescue League Inc. is dedicated to helping homeless, lonely Rottweilers get a second chance at a happy life. Volunteers provide foster homes until abandoned or unwanted Rotties can be found permanent, loving homes. Covers Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.
For The Love Of Dog
The people at this Rottweiler rescue group believe that all dogs should have a chance at a happy life. They rescue and foster needy Rotties (and Pitbulls) and work tirelessly to find the right family for each one. New Hampshire area.
Pet Paws For Love
A small, devoted group of animal-loving friends who are devoted to saving Rottweilers from death in New Jerseys' overwhelmed shelters. Also rescue Pitbulls and other 'not-weilers' whenever resources allow. New Jersey area.
MCM Rottweiler Rescue
A small group of volunteers who are committed to finding permanent loving homes for Rottweilers in need. New York City and Long Island area.
Mountain Rottweiler Rescue of New York
A Rottweiler Rescue Group based in New York City area, this organization also takes in other breeds in need whenever possible.
Rottie Empire Rescue
Based out of Saratoga County in upstate New York, this organization is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and responsibly rehoming Rottweilers in need - as well as som 'Not-weilers' too! NY, CT, MA, PA, VT and NJ areas.
Atlantic Rottweiler Rescue Foundation
AARFNCs' aim is to 'Rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome all unwanted Rottweilers'. They operate from two locations in North Carolina, and have a network of dedicated volunteers.
NC Rottweiler Rescue
This is an award-winning, all-volunteer organization that's dedicated to saving the lives of homeless Rottweilers and placing them in qualified homes. Often has dogs of other breeds available for adoption.
Ohio Rottweiler Rescue
This dog rescue organization rescues unwanted Rottweilers and Boston Terriers from bad environments, shelters, or as strays. They then find safe, loving, permanent homes for these dogs. Ohio area.
Southern States Rescued Rottweilers Inc.
This Rottweiler Rescue Organization is dedicated to saving the lives of Rottweilers throughout eleven states - AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, TX, VA Peninsula. As well as rescuing Rotties, they spend time and effort to help educate people about this wonderful breed.
Gulfstream Guardian Angels Rottweiler Rescue
This organization has a whole team of 'Guardian Angels' (human and canine!) who rescue, foster and rehome Rottweilers across Florida.
We Care Rottweiler Rescue Inc.
This organization is dedicated to helping surrendered, neglected and abused Rottweilers by finding them approved loving homes.
Rural Ga Rottie Animal Rescue Inc.
A NO KILL licensed non-profit organization dedicated to saving Rottweilers throughout Georgia. They rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals who otherwise would have been given an untimely death.
Rottie Aid Rottweiler Rescue
This organization offers placement assistance, rescue, referral and education. They help Rottweiler owners who have problems keeping their dogs, and are also involved in finding new homes for Rotties in need, setting up foster care, and educating the public about the breed. Covers Colorado, Kansas and Nebraska areas.
Big Sky Rottweiler Rescue
Big Sky Rott Rescue make a huge effort to rehome needy Rottweilers in the North Central states. Covers Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming.
Mid America Rottweiler Rescue
Mid America Rottweiler Rescue works hard to meet the great need for a rescue network in the midwest states. They take in dogs from private shelters, Humane Societies, animal control facilities, and other organizations. Covers northeast Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin and western/central/southern Illinois.
Recycled Rotts Inc
This Rottie Rescue dedicates itself to finding suitable and responsible homes for abandoned, rejected and homeless Rottweilers, and to educating the public about the Rottweiler breed. Covers Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.
True Hearts Of Rottweiler Rescue
THORRs' aim is to place orphaned or displaced Rottweilers in responsible, loving homes, and to educate the public about the Rottweiler breed. Illinois and Wisconsin areas.
Mid-Michigan Rottweiler Rescue
MMRR works hard to find LIFELONG, LOVING, RESPONSIBLE homes for each and every homeless Rottweiler that they possibly can. Michigan.
Rottweiler Rescue of Michigan Inc
This organizations' wish is one that I'm sure is shared by all Rottweiler Rescue Groups... to ensure that every rottweiler has a loving and nurturing life-time home. Michigan state only.
A Rotta Love Plus
A Rotta Love Plus is dedicated to rehoming Rottweilers and pit bulls in Minnesota. It's also very involved in raising breed awareness, educating the public about responsible pet ownership. Rehomes both Rottweilers and Pitbulls. Minnesota.
Wisconsin Rottweiler Rescue
WRR is a breed rescue initiative located in Madison, Wisconsin. Focuses specifically on Bull Terrier breeds, Miniature Pinscher and Chesapeake Bay Retriever rescue.
Rottweiler Rescue of Los Angeles Inc.
This Rottie rescue is devoted to find loving, life-time homes for homeless and needy Rottweilers in Southern California.
Second Chance Rottweiler Rescue
SCRRs' goal is to rescue Rottweilers from other rescue organizations (such as animal shelters, humane societies etc.) to prevent them from being euthanized. California.
If you're not ready to welcome a homeless Rottweiler (or a dog of any breed for that matter) into your home, there are still lots of ways that you can help.
Dog Rescue Organizations are generally staffed by volunteers, and their funding comes from donations and gifts.
Taking care of abandoned or neglected dogs is expensive! There's food, vaccinations, routine and/or acute veterinary care, housing, toys... the list goes on and on.
There's also often a shortage of willing volunteers, and without help Rottweiler Rescue Groups simply can't function.
You'll find info. on the type of help each rottweiler rescue organization is in need of on their websites, any and all help is always greatly appreciated. There are also a couple of more general ways that you can help animals in need below....
